Longest river in New Zealand - Waikato

New Zealand have a many rivers, but longest of them is Waikato. The river is long 425Km.

Waikato, the Maori word for ‘flowing water’, also refers to the long river which runs through the region.
The Waikato River is the longest in New Zealand and provides much of the life-force to the region, especially the vast agricultural landscapes, and generates a large of New Zealand’s clean, green energy through hydro-power.
There are also eight oxbow lakes running off the river, which are popular spots for swimming, boating and fishing.
